LOLA DUTRONIC

takes dogonaut for a walk through their exquisite world..

We are a French Pop/Electronica duo, who sing in both French & English. LOLA DEE does the singing and RICHARD CITROEN looks after the music. We divide our time between Berlin and Toronto. We've put out three albums so far: "THE WORLD OF LOLA DUTRONIC",

the Grammy Award nominated

"THE LOVE PARADE" and our newest album, "LOLA DUTRONIC IN BERLIN". Our songs have been featured in many films and television show, including "THE L-WORD", "GODIVAS", "BLOOD TIES" & "PERFECT STRANGERS".  Our latest album, "LOLA DUTRONIC IN BERLIN", was recorded over a 3 week period in an abandoned Berlin apartment, and mixed in Toronto.

It also features the legendary MIKE GARSON (of DAVID BOWIE fame) on piano. IT'S OUT NOW ON iTUNES and CDBaby.com!

Take a look around our world...

1. Fromages.com

Lola:

"I am constantly surprised by cheese.

I spend a lot of time looking at cheese wheels, as they are such a pleasing shape.

This site has hundreds of different cheeses to choose from and I plan to sample them all.

What I do is look up a cheese on the site and then try to find it in my neighbourhood in Berlin.

I was in Kreuzberg but now I'm in Mitte, and some of them are very hard to find. However, there is no shortage of good wine in Berlin."

2. Bahn.de

Lola:

"I do a lot of travelling, and frequently travel all over Germany and Europe by rail.

Although I don't mind flying, I prefer to take the train.

This site gives you all the train and ticket information you could possibly want.

I don't always like their ticket price policies, and sometime they seem to expect you to guess the price of a ticket (maybe if you guess right they'll give you a free one?) but I find myself coming back to it over and over again."

3. YouTube

Richard:

"I know it's hardly a new thing, but I just love YouTube.

Some people seem to think it's the future of television, and while I don't know about that, I certainly enjoy looking at all the various clips they have up there.

Nothing on the telly? No problem, as it's always fun to look at the various music clips. These of course can range from au courant things like The Ting-Tings to 70's classics like Roxy Music or David Bowie on TOTP surrounded by what appear to be some extras from "Man About The House".

It's a guilty pleasure, but my current favourite is "Where Do You Go To My Lovely" by Peter Sarstedt.

There he is looking like a Bollywood version of Jason King with his massive hair, warbling away on a song that I reckon everybody secretly likes.

Of course the other reason I like YouTube is that we have our own channel: www.youtube.com/LOLADUTRONICTV where you can see videos for our entire new album."

4. Blue Homes

Richard:

"This is straight up real estate porn.

Basically it shows pretty much every house for sale in France.

These range from massive houses that look like Versailles just outside Paris to what appears to be a tool shed with a toilet in it in The Aude.

It nice to think about living a cottage in the South of France eating cheese and drinking wine while watching YouTube.

After a while you get so wrapped up in it, you might actually consider getting one of these places, moving there and opening up a B&B!"

"Here comes the shameless plug for our new album "LOLA DUTRONIC IN BERLIN". Basically it does what it says on the tin.

We recorded it in Berlin and mixed it in Toronto. We even managed to rope in Mike Garson, from David Bowie's band to play piano on it.

Funnily enough, he contacted us, not as you would have thought, the other way around.

Actually we were quite proud of the fact that the whole we were working together with Mike we never mentioned Bowie once!

You can hear tracks from it on our MySpace page: www.myspace.com/loladutronic

There are links where you can go to iTunes and CDBaby.com, which are the only places you can purchase it, so don't bother looking for it in your high street HMV or local indie store. It won't be there.

As we mentioned earlier, you can also see and hear the entire "LOLA DUTRONIC IN BERLIN" album on our YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/LOLADUTRONICTV"
